A quick switch of DOCTYPE, removal of the onreset attribute and I’m HTML5 compliant (“subject to the utter previewness of this service”).
Introducing the new doctype in an XSLT workflow turns out to be a solved issue with some history behind it. There’s some compromise but nothing breaks.
