More evangelism for feed: URLs from Brent Simmons and Nick Bradbury, aggregator authors both. Some have argued that feed autodiscovery is a better mechanism, though it’s really a solution to a slightly different problem. Discovery is an ideal way to indicate the RSS version of the page you’re looking at, but offers no way to point to other feeds (things with no HTML representation or pages of scraped feeds, for example). Either way, Dave’s not convinced. (Update: Phil expounds on the concrete risks, via Dave.)
Dare announced that MSN now has an online aggregator with its own one-click subscription URLs, so I’ve updated the feed: URL handler (previous entry) to support them. (To upgrade, just install again.) I’ve also added update information, so future changes should be picked up automatically.
